Nigerian Afrobeats star, Tiwa Savage, has officially launched the Tiwa Savage Music Foundation, a new initiative aimed at nurturing and empowering the next generation of African music creatives.
The grand launch took place in Lagos and brought together key figures from the entertainment industry, business sector and government. Among the high-profile guests present was the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who attended the event in support of the initiative.
The foundation is designed to provide mentorship, education and professional opportunities for emerging talents across different areas of the music industry. Beyond performers, the program will focus on developing skills in songwriting, music production, sound engineering, and music business.
As part of its first major initiative, the foundation has partnered with Berklee College of Music to launch an intensive music training program in Lagos. The four-day program is expected to bring together 100 young African creatives for hands-on training from industry experts and educators.
Speaking at the launch, Tiwa Savage emphasised the importance of creating opportunities for young African talents, noting that while the continent is rich in musical creativity, access to structured training and global industry connections remains limited.
With Afrobeats continuing to gain global recognition, the Tiwa Savage Music Foundation aims to help bridge that gap by equipping upcoming creatives with the skills and networks needed to succeed on the international stage.
