US-based attorney and entrepreneur Juny Francois has said that Ghana remains one of Africa’s most promising destinations for investment, citing its growing economy, youthful population and expanding business opportunities.
In a conversation with Lerny Lomotey on Woman on 3Music TV, Juny said her long relationship with Ghana has evolved from a personal connection into a commitment to invest in the country’s future.
She said she first visited Ghana after graduating from law school, inspired by a close Ghanaian friend she met at Columbia University and by a longstanding desire to reconnect with Africa.
Since then, she has returned regularly and has now visited 16 African countries.
Juny said she bought her first parcel of land in Winneba in 2008 before acquiring beachfront property two years later with a group of friends. She said the long-term goal is to develop a small beach resort that will create jobs and attract investment to the coastal town.
“We want to build a little mini resort, bring investments and create economic opportunities in Winneba,” she said.
The lawyer, who also works in real estate development, said her investment journey began in New York, where she renovated homes before expanding into property development.
She said becoming a Ghanaian citizen earlier this year marked an important milestone in a journey that began decades ago.
According to Juny, Africa’s youthful population and room for development make it an attractive destination for investors.
“There is so much opportunity for development and growth,” she said.
Beyond her property projects, Juny said she hopes to pursue additional investments in Ghana while strengthening ties with fellow Columbia University alumni in the country.
She said she recently joined a network of more than 400 Ghanaian Columbia graduates, describing it as another opportunity to collaborate on development initiatives.
