Angelique Kidjo To Receive Polar Music Prize

Five-time Grammy Award-winner Angelique Kidjo has made it to the list of musicians to receive the 2023 Polar Music Prize.


She announced this via her Instagram page where she uploaded a photo of herself that included the Polar Music Prize logo with the caption,

Arvo Pärt of Estonia and Chris Blackwell, founder of Island Records in the UK, will also receive awards this year. Polar Music Prize shared on its Instagram page pictures of their winners.


Paul McCartney (1992), Elton John (1995), Stevie Wonder (1999), Björk (2010) and Sting (2017) are some of the previous recipients of this prize.


The Polar Music Prize is one of the most prestigious and distinctive music awards in the world. It transcends musical genres and is given to people, bands and organizations in honour of outstanding accomplishments. On May 23rd in Stockholm, the 2023 edition will take place.
