Nigerian music star Ayra Starr has taken another major leap in her career, officially signing a global management deal with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation. The partnership marks a significant milestone for the fast-rising star, expanding her reach across the international music landscape while maintaining her strong roots with Mavin Records, her home label.

The announcement, which surfaced on July 16th, 2025, confirms that Roc Nation will now oversee Ayra Starr’s global branding, touring, bookings, and endorsement deals, particularly across the United States and Europe. Meanwhile, her music releases and creative direction within Nigeria and much of Africa will continue to be managed by Mavin Records.

Ayra Starr, born Sarah Oyinkansola Aderibigbe, has quickly become one of Africa’s most exciting musical exports. Her unique fusion of Afrobeats, R&B, and soul has earned her critical acclaim and a growing fanbase across the world. Her breakout single RUSH not only earned her a Grammy nomination but also solidified her place among Afrobeats heavyweights.

Her rise has been nothing short of phenomenal. Recently, she became the first Nigerian female artiste to hit 1 billion views on YouTube. In June, she made history at the BET Awards by winning the Best International Act, becoming only the second Nigerian woman to achieve the feat. Roc Nation, which had already begun showing support for the singer, publicly celebrated her BET win on social media, hinting at the budding partnership even before the official announcement.

The Roc Nation deal comes at a time when Ayra Starr is expanding her international presence. She is set to perform at the upcoming Giants of Africa Festival in Kigali, Rwanda, this August — one of several major appearances she’s booked for later this year. With Roc Nation’s infrastructure and global network, her team is now strategically positioned to push her music and brand to even wider audiences.

Despite the new management structure, Ayra Starr will remain under the musical care of Mavin Records, who will continue to oversee her recording, releases, and regional promotions. This dual setup mirrors the model used by several Afrobeats stars who have entered international markets while maintaining their African creative identity.

With Roc Nation’s backing, fans can expect enhanced global touring, brand partnerships, and potentially high-profile collaborations. Already, buzz is building around her upcoming single HOT BODY, which is rumored to be part of a larger rollout under the new management.

At just 23 years old, Ayra Starr is proving to be a generational talent, and this deal with Roc Nation solidifies her status as one of the leading voices pushing Afrobeats onto the world stage. From Lagos to London to Los Angeles, the world is listening, and Ayra Starr is just getting started.
