Legendary Beninese singer and global music icon, Angélique Kidjo, has officially announced the release of her upcoming album HOPE set to arrive on April 24. The project marks her first major album release in five years, a period she says was dedicated to pouring her “whole heart” into the music.
Taking to social media to share the news, the five-time Grammy Award winner revealed that the album has been years in the making and expressed deep appreciation for the artistes who contributed to the project.
“Five years in the making… my new album HOPE!! is coming out on April 24th. I put my whole heart into this album and I’m so grateful to all the great artistes who have contributed their genius to it,” she wrote.

The highly anticipated album will feature an impressive lineup of international and African stars, including American producer and singer Pharrell Williams, Nigerian Afropop star Ayra Starr, and Afrobeats heavyweight Davido. Other collaborators include legendary guitarist and producer Nile Rodgers, American R&B icon Charlie Wilson, French singer Florent Pagny, French-Congolese artiste Dadju, Congolese rumba star Fally Ipupa, Brazilian singer IZA, American soul musician PJ Morton, Tanzanian Diamond Platnumz, Nigerian alternative band The Cavemen as well as the renowned Soweto Gospel Choir.
The diverse lineup reflects Kidjo’s long-standing commitment to blending global sounds with African musical heritage, a signature that has defined her career for decades.
While details about the album’s tracklist and sound direction remain under wraps, HOPE is already generating excitement among fans worldwide due to its cross-continental collaborations and Kidjo’s reputation for pushing musical boundaries.
