Ghanaian reggae and dancehall musician Epixode has been admitted to the Recording Academy’s Class of 2026, becoming part of a new group of music creators and industry professionals invited to join the organisation behind the Grammy Awards.
The announcement was made by the Recording Academy as it extended membership invitations to more than 4,000 established music professionals from different genres and disciplines around the world.
The invitations are part of the Academy’s annual membership drive aimed at expanding its global community of music creators and professionals.
Epixode, whose real name is Theophilus Nii Arday, shared the news on social media, saying he was honoured to join the Recording Academy’s 2026 New Member Class.
The musician said the opportunity would allow him to use his voice, platform and experience to contribute to the global music community.
A welcome message from the Recording Academy to the Ghanaian artiste said his membership gives him access to opportunities to learn, connect and contribute to the future of the music industry.
It added that members help advocate for creators’ rights while participating in programmes and initiatives across the Academy.
Recording Academy Chief Executive Harvey Mason Jr. said the organisation looked forward each year to welcoming a new group of dedicated music creators and professionals.
He said the Academy’s membership is the engine of the Grammys and that new invitees would help shape the future of the music industry through collaboration with their peers.
Membership of the Recording Academy provides access to professional development, networking opportunities and industry advocacy programmes.
Eligible voting members also participate in determining Grammy Award nominees and winners. Invitations must be formally accepted before invitees become official members.
Epixode has built a reputation as one of Ghana’s leading reggae and dancehall performers, earning recognition for projects including Chooboi and Atia.
His admission to the Recording Academy marks another international milestone in his career as Ghana continues to increase its representation within the global music industry.
