As part of his Welcome To Tha Carter tour, Lil Wayne made a stop in Los Angeles, California over the weekend for a concert at The Wiltern Theatre in Koreatown where several fans were dismayed by his decision to cancel the concert mid-performance over the crowd’s reaction to his Young Money Artistes Lil Twist, Yaj and Allan Cubas.
According to fans, the show began 3 hours later than scheduled and seemed to take off after Lil Wayne showed up and performed some hit songs from his catalogue including Fireman, Hustler Musik, Drop the World, BM J.R, Lollipop amongst others and even brought out 2 Chainz to perform their song, Duffle Bag Boy. However, during a brief intermission mid set, artistes on the Young Money roster, Lil Twist, Yaj Kader and Allan Cubas made appearances which did not seem to go well with the unfamiliar crowd.
This apparently led to an interruption by Lil Wayne who grabbed the mic mid performance to announce that the show was over due to the crowd’s inability to show his artistes “enough love”.
“We appreciate it, but we ain’t about to be bending over backwards
for these folks. We work too hard for this s**t. We work way too hard,” Lil
Wayne told Cubas before addressing the audience.
“This my m**ha***kin’ artist Allan, that was Twist, that was Yaj; we are Young Money. We appreciate y’all time,” he said before setting the mic down and signaling to his crew that it was time to go.
Several disgruntled fans took to social media to express their
frustrations with some vowing to never attend any Lil Wayne concerts in the future
as this has not been the Rapper’s first rodeo with cancelling shows.
Many fans however believed it was a stunt, expecting the rapper to
return until the lights came up and people were instructed to leave the venue.
