Renowned Ghanaian artist Prince Gyasi is shaking up the art scene, taking the reins as the creative maestro behind the 2024 Pirelli Calendar. Gyasi, known for his vibrant and eclectic style, has orchestrated the entire journey from concept to casting, infusing his unmistakable vivid palettes into a breathtaking fusion of lively pastels and lavish hues. The meticulously designed sets, featuring surreal elements like a melting clock and a colossal red heart, serve as a testament to Gyasi's artistic genius.

This year's calendar boasts a dazzling lineup of A-listers, including supermodel Naomi Campbell, the dynamic duo Idris Elba and Angela Bassett, the multifaceted Teyana Taylor, visual artist Amoako Boafo, wordsmith Amanda Gorman, author Margot Lee Shetterly, and musical powerhouses Tiwa Savage and Jeymes Samuel. Gyasi's creative touch extends even to football legend Marcel Desailly and the esteemed His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the revered King of Ghana’s Ashanti Empire.

In a uniquely personal twist, Gyasi dedicates an entire month of the calendar to himself, recreating a youthful version of his own image for the cover. The cover shot captures Gyasi's younger self whimsically playing with miniature replicas of the pieces featured in the other cast members' photographs.

Shot against the picturesque backdrops of the UK, Kumasi, and Accra, Gyasi's calendar not only showcases the aesthetic allure of Ghana but also pays homage to the nation as a special land — a gateway to Africa, abundant in treasures like cocoa, gold, bauxite, and oil. Gyasi envisions this calendar as a means to unveil a new world, potentially paving the way for developmental opportunities.

Complementing the visual extravaganza is Gyasi's manifesto, a thoughtful reflection on the timeless icons who influenced him. Embracing an anti-time concept, Gyasi declares, "This project is a calendar, but it is not one with great respect for time. It is anti-time. It is a celebration of these iconic individuals who, with every step, chart their own timeless path." The images serve as portals into Gyasi's childhood perceptions of these influential figures, inviting viewers to partake in a unique celebration of timelessness.
