Accra’s nightlife has produced many iconic figures over the years, but few names carry as much weight as FM, widely known as Accra’s notorious bouncer, FM recently sat down with Afi and Zuu on the Stay By Plan Podcast for the show’s season finale, where he shared untold stories from his years controlling the doors of some of the city’s hottest nightclubs.
During the interview, FM made a bold declaration that instantly grabbed attention.
FM rose to prominence during his time at Twist Night Club, where his strict, no-favor approach earned him both respect and fear. According to him, status never mattered at the door, rules were rules, whether you were a regular partygoer or an international superstar.
Addressing the long-standing controversy involving Nigerian music icon Davido, FM stated plainly, “I didn’t bounce Davido.” He explained that the incident occurred at Twist Night Club when he allowed only Davido’s manager and bodyguard to enter, while the rest of the entourage was denied access. Davido, he said, did not agree with the decision, which led to the moment that has since become part of Accra nightlife folklore.
Despite the headline-making moment, FM was quick to clear the air, stressing that there was no bad blood. He described Davido as his brother and emphasized that the situation was strictly professional, not personal.
The conversation went beyond nightlife as FM opened up about his life today. Now a family man, he spoke about raising his children, finding balance after years in the club scene and embracing a quieter lifestyle. He also shared his love for his dogs, revealing a softer side to the man once known for his intimidating presence at the door.
The episode marked the final chapter of the Stay By Plan Podcast for the year, with hosts Afi and Zuu thanking listeners and viewers for their continued support, engagement and love throughout the season.
