Lisa Quama Set to Make Ghana Proud at New York Fashion Week & Climate Week

Ghanaian dance creator and creative powerhouse Lisa Quama is set to take her talent to the global stage as she becomes the first Ghanaian creative to actively participate in the upcoming New York Fashion Week and Climate Week.

The September showcase will bring together some of the biggest names in fashion and sustainability, with brands including KidSuper, Tommy Hilfiger, Opulence and others set to unveil their Spring/Summer 2027 collections.

Lisa Quama is expected to play a multifaceted role throughout the fashion week, going beyond simply attending the high-profile events.

She is set to attend the Opulence Fashion Show as a VIP guest, while also taking on the role of a runway model and hosting the official after-party for the “Made With Intention II” show.

Her involvement will also extend into the sustainability space. Lisa is set to curate a dance showcase for The Sustainability Laboratory’s “THREADS OF IMPACT” show, using movement and performance to contribute to conversations around fashion, creativity and sustainability.

Her participation marks a significant moment for Ghanaian creatives, particularly dancers, as Lisa brings Ghanaian talent and creative expression to two internationally recognised cultural platforms.

With her roles spanning fashion, performance, curation and entertainment, Lisa Quama’s appearance is expected to further highlight the growing influence of African creatives on the global fashion and cultural scene.

Lisa Quama has established herself as one of Ghana’s notable dance artists and digital creators, combining professional dance with content creation and creative direction. She is also a professional dancer and trainer with DWP Academy, an internationally recognised dance institution.  Her growing international profile has seen her take Ghanaian dance beyond the country, including a recent U.S. tour which kicked off with a sold-out dance class in New York.

Her New York Fashion Week and Climate Week engagements position her not just as a guest, but as an active contributor to the events, representing a new generation of Ghanaian creatives taking their work to international stages.
