Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu has directed heads of Senior High Schools (SHS), Senior High Technical Schools (SHTS), and Technical and Vocational Institutes (TVIs) to strictly adhere to the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) and stop admitting students outside the official process.
In a circular issued through the Directors-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES) and the Ghana TVET Service, the minister cautioned that any school head found admitting students manually or outside the approved CSSPS framework will face sanctions after enrolment data validation.
The directive states that once vacancies are declared, validated, and confirmed on the system, there shall be no further expansion of places. The exact number of students placed through CSSPS will form the approved enrolment for each school.
“No school head is permitted to admit any student outside the CSSPS,” the circular emphasised.
The warning comes days after the Ministry of Education released the 2026 senior high school placements on Friday, September 4, covering 620,141 candidates who sat the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
Officials say the move is aimed at protecting the integrity of the placement system, ensuring fairness, and preventing unauthorised admissions that could undermine the process.
