SUSPECT ARRESTED IN 1996 TUPAC SHAKUR SHOOTING

According to authorities in Las Vegas, Duane Keith Davis who is currently 60 years of age was arrested in Las Vegas on Friday morning in connection with the shooting of Legendary rapper Tupac Shakur in 1996 which ultimately led to his death. The arrest took place months after a raid of Davis'wife's residence on July 17.

Authorities speculated that Davis was the mastermind behind a plot to avenge an attack on his nephew by orchestrating Tupac Shakur's murder, which happened after he was fatally shot while leaving a boxing match on the Las Vegas Strip where he sustained four gunshot wounds, leading to his death six days later.

In a 2019 memoir, COMPTON STREET LEGEND, Davis admitted to being at the scene of the crime and in the front of the seat of the white Cadillac which reportedly pulled up alongside Shakur's car when shots were fired from the back seat, leading to the musician's death, for which he has long been under investigation. A grand jury has decided to include a sentencing enhancement for gang activity, potentially adding up to 20 more years to his sentence if he is convicted.
