Global superstar Ed Sheeran has revealed that his fans can expect one final project from him, but only after he passes away. The singer has confirmed plans for a posthumous album titled EJECT, which he has already included in his will.

According to Sheeran, EJECT will serve as the definitive closing chapter of his career. Unlike many posthumous projects that are pieced together from unreleased material, he intends the album to be carefully curated. He explained that EJECT will feature 10 of his strongest songs, spanning from tracks he wrote as a teenager to more recent works.

“Sheeran said he doesn’t want a random collection of scraps released after his death. Instead, EJECT is meant to be a thoughtfully assembled body of work that truly reflects his artistry at its peak,” reports Rolling Stone.

The project is expected to be overseen by his wife, Cherry Seaborn, who will help select which songs make the final cut. By doing this, Sheeran hopes the album will be a meaningful farewell gift to fans across the globe.

The artiste previously sparked speculation when asked whether STOP would be his final album. He clarified that while STOP might conclude his series of mathematical-themed projects, the ultimate final release will be EJECT.

Although the timeline remains unknown, the news confirms Sheeran’s forward planning and his desire to leave behind music that endures long after his lifetime. For fans, it’s a bittersweet promise: the knowledge that one last Ed Sheeran album will come, but only under the most inevitable of circumstances.
