Sports lifestyle show GAME ON has returned in a revised format for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with the special edition dubbed GAME ON—World Cup Edition.
The special edition commenced the 21-day countdown to the tournament and airs every Tuesday and Thursday at 1:30 p.m. before shifting into a regular schedule once the World Cup begins on June 11.
GAME ON—World Cup Edition is hosted by Michael Eklu and broadcast on Orange 107.9 FM in Kumasi, Pluzz 89.9 FM in Accra, and 3Music TV.
The programme remains a studio-based football discussion show and will not broadcast live matches but rather focus on analysis and fan engagement built around the tournament.
It features pre-match and post-match discussions, tactical breakdowns, player-focused stories, statistical analysis, and audience interaction.
Michael Eklu is joined by two football analysts and a statistics presenter, who will lead discussions across match analysis and wider football conversations.
The first segment, Tactical Zone, examines major matches through formation breakdowns, team strategies, key player match-ups, and coaching decisions.
The Star Watch segment profiles a selected player in each episode, covering their background, career trajectory, playing style, and World Cup expectations.
In Tactical Board, the experts provide deeper match analysis, including positional movement and in-game tactical transitions. A recurring feature titled If I Were the Coach allows them to suggest alternative tactical approaches.
The Legends Corner segment revisits historic moments from the FIFA World Cup, including iconic goals, finals, and tournament records.
Fan Zone also focuses on audience participation through calls, WhatsApp voice notes, social media reactions, and trending debates. A prediction feature allows viewers to forecast match outcomes, with a leaderboard tracking correct predictions.
Other recurring elements include 60-Second World Cup Facts, delivering rapid statistics and records, as well as World Cup Street Vibes, which captures fan reactions from viewing centres, campuses, and public spaces.
