A man from Indiana in the United States has allegedly severed his penis and burnt it with petrol and lighters, his lawyer said.
Christopher Peden told the Police he went into a garage in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and used a kitchen knife to cut off his penis, according to what his lawyer David Feltz told TMZ.
Feltz narrated that Peden after cutting his penis on the floor then poured gasoline over it, and set it on fire with four lighters.
Police and firefighters responded to a report of a stabbing at the property owners’ detached garage on May 6.
A worried neighbour discovered the garage was on fire and woke the occupants. At that point, they noticed that a family member, Peden, was missing.
Peden allegedly made up the story that he had been threatened the day before and had been stabbed by someone downtown when Fort Wayne police officers arrived on the site.
However, Peden allegedly told detectives that he had lied and confessed to self-mutilation after being brought to the hospital.
After that, he was brought to the Allen County Jail, where he was photographed and given a booking.
The amount of his bond was $10,000. He is accused of criminal arson by the prosecution. He is no longer in detention, according to a jail official.
Feltz has confirmed Peden's condition is stable at the moment as he gathering data for his client's defence.
He went on to say that he is looking into Peden's mental state at the time of the alleged incident and that the accusations are alarming.
