50 Cent Reignites Feud with Floyd Mayweather, Claims Boxing Legend Is Broke

Rapper and media mogul 50 Cent, born Curtis Jackson, has reignited his long-standing feud with former friend Floyd Mayweather by claiming the retired boxing champion is facing financial ruin. On August 10, 2025, 50 Cent took to Instagram, posting images of a golden goblet allegedly owned by Mayweather, claiming it was being pawned for $80,000. “Damn champ you pawning sh*t, they just hit me asking do I want it, they want 80K for it call my phone,” he wrote, as reported by Complex and The Source, fueling speculation about Mayweather’s financial status. This latest jab follows 50 Cent’s ongoing taunts, including mocking Mayweather’s February 2025 claim of owning “upwards of 100 buildings” in New York, which Business Insider found no evidence to support.

The claims come amidst Mayweather’s high-profile $100 million defamation lawsuit against Business Insider, filed in May 2025, over reports questioning his real estate ventures. 50 Cent, who has a history of targeting Mayweather since their fallout in 2012 over a disputed $2 million debt related to Mayweather’s The Money Team, also referenced the boxer’s support for Donald Trump and his exhibition fights as signs of financial desperation. Despite Mayweather’s reported career earnings of $1.1 billion and a net worth of several hundred million, 50 Cent’s posts have sparked debate, with some fans on X joking about the goblet’s origins, while others, including Wack100, defend Mayweather’s wealth, citing his savvy use of trusts and shell companies. No Money Mo Problems, a track from 50 Cent’s 1997 album, seems an apt nod to this ongoing saga, with no response yet from Mayweather.
