Tiwa Savage Reveals She Has Frozen Her Eggs Amid Plans For More Children

Nigerian Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage has revealed that she has frozen some of her eggs to preserve the option of having more children in the future.

The award-winning singer, who is already a mother to one son, shared the decision in a video interview circulating on social media. She explained that the step was motivated by her desire to keep her family options open as she considers expanding her family.

“I do want more kids, but I’ve frozen some of my eggs. I actually want to say I would advise women that once they hit 30 to do that,” Savage said.

She noted that many women are unaware they are born with a finite number of eggs that decline with age. The singer also cited the experiences of two friends: one who later struggled to conceive and wished she had frozen her eggs earlier, and another who froze her eggs before a cancer diagnosis and chemotherapy, allowing her to retain the possibility of having children.

Savage expressed frustration over the high cost of the procedure, saying it should be more affordable and accessible to more women.

“I hate that it’s so expensive and I don’t think it should be expensive. I think it should be affordable so that many women could afford it,” she added.

The revelation has drawn attention as part of broader discussions around fertility preservation, with Savage previously speaking openly about egg freezing in earlier interviews as a form of “insurance” for future family planning.
