Doja Cat Announces Fifth Studio Album Vie, Out September 26

Doja Cat is set to make her highly anticipated return this fall with the release of her fifth studio album, Vie, which officially arrives on September 26th, 2025.

The announcement was accompanied by a cinematic trailer shared on the artiste’s social media pages. The visuals, featuring sweeping Parisian imagery and the Eiffel Tower, were paired with the French phrase “Je sais que tu es ma vie” (“I know you are my life”), signaling the romantic and cosmopolitan themes of the project.

In recent interviews, Doja Cat described Vie as a “pop-driven project”, exploring themes of love, romance, sensuality, and self-discovery. The new body of work, she explained, reflects a more introspective direction in her artistry, balancing vulnerability with optimism.

“I want to be self-aware enough to admit that this is a pop-driven project… It is, after all, pop,” she said, noting her intention to create something authentic rather than solely commercial.

Ahead of the album, Doja Cat will release its lead single, JEALOUS TYPE on August 21st at 8 p.m. ET. The track, a funk-pop/disco-pop anthem, was first teased in May during a Marc Jacobs campaign and later performed live at the Outside Lands Festival earlier this month.

From its French title Vie (“life”) to the Paris-inspired visuals, the album rollout suggests a glamorous, international aesthetic. This artistic shift represents a fresh chapter for Doja Cat, contrasting the darker, experimental tones of her 2023 album Scarlet.

Fans have been anticipating Vie since Doja first teased the project in late 2024, releasing cryptic tracklists and snippets that hinted at a creative evolution. With the release date now confirmed, anticipation for her new pop-forward era has reached new heights.
