Doja Cat Honours James Bond With Diamonds Are Forever
Doja Cat
At the Oscars held on March 2, 2025, Doja Cat delivered a performance of Diamonds Are Forever as part of a tribute to the James Bond franchise. The medley also featured BLACKPINK’s Lisa and British singer Raye, who performed “Live and Let Die” and “Skyfall,” respectively.

Doja Cat’s rendition received mixed reactions from viewers and critics. While some praised her versatility and stage presence, others felt her performance did not do justice to Shirley Bassey’s original classic. Social media platforms buzzed with divided opinions, with some users expressing admiration for her effort and others criticizing her vocal delivery.

Despite the polarized reception of her performance, Doja Cat’s fashion choices garnered widespread acclaim. She graced the stage in a custom gown adorned with over one million Swarovski crystals, designed by her stylist Brett Alan Nelson. The dazzling ensemble embodied the essence of the song’s title, creating the illusion of floating gems and solidifying her status as a fashion icon.

The James Bond tribute was introduced by actress Halle Berry, who acknowledged the contributions of longtime franchise producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson. The segment commenced with a dance routine by Margaret Qualley, setting the stage for the musical performances that followed.

Overall, the tribute segment was among the most discussed moments of the evening, highlighting the enduring legacy of the James Bond series and sparking conversations about the evolving nature of performances at prestigious award ceremonies.
