Manchester City has officially completed the signing of Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo from AFC Bournemouth, securing one of the most eye-catching moves of the January transfer window.
The 26-year-old attacker has put pen to paper on a long-term contract that will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until 2031, as City continues to strengthen their squad in pursuit of domestic and European success. The deal, reportedly valued at over £60 million including add-ons, underlines the club’s belief in Semenyo’s quality and long-term potential.
Semenyo joins City following an outstanding spell with Bournemouth, where he established himself as one of the Premier League’s most dynamic attacking players. Known for his pace, physicality and direct approach, he enjoyed a prolific run of form this season, contributing crucial goals and assists that attracted interest from several top clubs.

City’s decision to move swiftly reflects their desire to add greater depth and versatility to their attacking options. Semenyo is comfortable operating across both wings or through the middle, attributes that align well with the fluid attacking systems employed by manager Pep Guardiola.
Speaking after completing the move, Semenyo expressed pride at joining the reigning champions, describing the transfer as a major step in his career and an opportunity to compete at the highest level under one of the world’s most respected coaches.
The signing is also a landmark moment for Ghanaian football, with Semenyo becoming one of the few Ghana internationals to earn a move to a club of City’s stature during his prime years.
As Manchester City continues their push on multiple fronts this season, Semenyo’s arrival adds another layer of attacking threat and competition within the squad, reinforcing the club’s ambition to remain at the summit of English and European football.
