Shatta Wale Earns Three Nods At The 43rd International Reggae & World Music Awards

Ghanaian dancehall heavyweight, Shatta Wale, has secured three major nominations at the 43rd edition of the International Reggae & World Music Awards (IRAWMA), one of the most respected platforms honouring excellence in reggae, dancehall, and world music.

The nominations were unveiled during the official 2026 awards announcement in Kingston, Jamaica, ahead of the ceremony scheduled for May 17. Shatta Wale is in the running for Best African Dancehall Entertainer, a highly competitive category spotlighting standout talents from across the continent. He also earned a nomination for Best Music Video with his striking visual, STREET CROWN and a third nod for Concert of the Year for his annual festival, SHATTAFEST, a flagship event known for drawing massive crowds and commanding industry attention.


Nominations

The triple nomination highlights a strong year for the dancehall star, reflecting his consistent output and growing global footprint within reggae and dancehall spaces.

The 43rd IRAWMA will take place at the Lauderhill Performing Arts Centre in Florida, bringing together legendary acts and contemporary stars from across the Caribbean, Africa and beyond. With public voting now open, fans have the opportunity to rally behind their favourites ahead of the live ceremony in May 2026.
