Ghanaian Afrobeats and Afropop singer, Sefa, has revealed how a hurtful comment on social media once left her feeling emotionally shattered.
In a candid interview, the talented artiste recounted the moment a Twitter user referred to her as “beauty but brainless.” The comment, she explained, was painful and shook her confidence, prompting her to step back from the platform for a while.
“Reading that really hurt me,” Sefa admitted.
However, the experience, she revealed, ultimately became a turning point. Sefa says it strengthened her determination to focus on her craft and prove her critics wrong. “Instead of letting it bring me down, I decided to work harder and let my success speak for itself,” she said.
The singer emphasized the importance of resilience in the face of online negativity. “Social media can be harsh, but it shouldn’t define who you are. I’ve learned to rise above the noise and keep pushing forward.”
Sefa’s story serves as a reminder that even public figures face personal struggles with criticism, but perseverance and self-belief can turn negativity into motivation.
