Cardi B has issued a strong warning to social media users, stating that she will pursue legal action against anyone who continues to spread false and damaging rumours about her father.
The rapper took to X to address viral claims suggesting her father has a criminal record. According to Cardi B, the allegations are completely untrue and reckless, stressing that her father has never been arrested.
“First things first, my dad has never been arrested in this country,” she wrote. “My dad is an immigrant from the Dominican Republic… he would be deported if he committed such a disgusting crime.”
The controversy was sparked after a post shared by Female Rap Live amplified a response allegedly generated by Grok, which claimed her father was convicted of a serious crime in the 1990s. The post quickly gained traction online, drawing backlash and prompting Cardi B to respond directly.
Cardi B Warns Public
In her statement, Cardi B criticised what she described as a growing culture of misinformation, accusing some users of spreading lies for engagement and controversy. She made it clear that this situation goes beyond online drama, as it involves false criminal allegations against a private individual.
The Grammy-winning artiste also warned that continued circulation of the claims could result in lawsuits, emphasising that defamation and false reporting have real legal consequences.
The incident has reignited conversations around accountability on social media, particularly regarding the use of AI-generated content and unverified claims about public figures and their families. As of now, no official court documents have been presented to substantiate the allegations being circulated online.
Cardi B has urged fans and the public to stop engaging with unverified information and to respect boundaries when it comes to her family.
