President John Dramani Mahama, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to combating corruption and strengthening governance systems as part of efforts to restore public trust and fiscal discipline.
In his address, the President highlighted the work of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), noting that the agency had recovered more than GH¢600 million and investigated hundreds of cases as of late 2025. He presented these efforts as evidence of renewed resolve to safeguard public resources and enforce accountability across both public and private institutions.
President Mahama stressed that the fight against corruption would be pursued without regard to political affiliation, underscoring that due process and adherence to legal procedures must guide all investigations and prosecutions. According to him, upholding the rule of law is essential not only for delivering justice but also for reinforcing confidence in state institutions.
He further indicated that transparency and institutional integrity form a critical pillar of the government’s broader economic recovery agenda, arguing that strong governance frameworks are indispensable to sustaining fiscal stability and enhancing the credibility of public administration.
