Ghana international winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has completed a permanent move from Leicester City to Ipswich Town, signing a five-year contract that will keep him at Portman Road until 2031.
The newly promoted Premier League club confirmed the signing on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, with the transfer marking another major step in the 22-year-old's rapidly developing career.
Fatawu joins Ipswich after three seasons with Leicester City, having initially arrived from Sporting Lisbon on loan in 2023 before making the move permanent.
He made 100 appearances for the Foxes across all competitions and scored 16 goals, including an impressive 2025/26 campaign in which he recorded nine goals and seven assists in 44 appearances.
The Ghanaian winger was also part of the Black Stars squad at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Although the official clubs have not disclosed the transfer fee, reports indicate that Ipswich have agreed a deal worth around £20 million, potentially rising with performance-related add-ons.
Fatawu has already linked up with his new teammates during the club's pre-season preparations in La Manga, Spain, as Ipswich strengthen their squad ahead of their return to the Premier League.
His pace, direct attacking style and ability to play on either wing are expected to add another dimension to the Tractor Boys' attack.
