The long-awaited first trailer for MICHEAL, the biopic based on the life of the legendary King of Pop, Michael Jackson, has finally been released.
The film stars Jaafar Jackson, Michael Jackson’s real-life nephew who steps into his uncle’s shoes to portray one of music’s most influential figures. Known for his striking resemblance and vocal likeness to the late icon, Jaafar brings a personal connection to the role that has already generated considerable excitement among fans worldwide.
Joining him in the cast is Insecure star Kendrick Sampson, who takes on the role of music producer Quincy Jones a key figure behind some of Jackson’s most iconic albums, including THRILLER and OFF THE WALL.
Directed by Antoine Fuqua, renowned for his work on Training Day and The Equalizer, the biopic promises to take audiences on an emotional journey through Michael Jackson’s extraordinary life. It will explore his rise to fame, his artistic genius and his personal struggles both on and off stage while recreating some of his most memorable early solo performances.
MICHEAL is set to hit cinemas on 24 April 2026, giving fans plenty of time to anticipate what could become one of the most talked about musical biopics of the decade.
