Ghanaian creative collective and streetwear brand Free The Youth (FTY) is set to release its latest collaboration with Jordan Brand, following the highly sought-after FTY Air Jordan 1 Friends & Family edition.
The new Free The Youth x Air Jordan 16 Retro will receive an exclusive first release on August 1, 2026, through freetheyouthxjordan.net, marking another major milestone for the Ghanaian collective on the global sneaker scene.
The collaboration features a metallic silver base accented with bold orange and green details, while the sneaker also carries distinct FTY design elements. The upper includes a reversible shroud featuring an eagle-wing graphic, with Free The Youth branding appearing on the tongue.
The shoe is also presented in special packaging, with the inside of the box carrying the message, “We succeeded in giving the people hope.”
The design continues the Ghanaian-inspired visual language seen in the collective's previous Air Jordan 1 Friends & Family collaboration.
Unlike the previous FTY AJ1 F&F, which was strictly limited to friends and family and was not made available for a public release, the Air Jordan 16 collaboration will be available for purchase.
Following the exclusive August 1 launch through the FTY platform, a wider global release through Nike and select Jordan retailers is expected on August 15, 2026.
The latest collaboration further establishes Free The Youth as one of Ghana's most influential creative exports, connecting local identity and African creativity with the global legacy of Jordan Brand.
