The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially announced the examination dates for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for school candidates.
According to the schedule, the BECE (School Candidates) will take place from June 9 to June 16, 2025, while the WASSCE (School Candidates) will be conducted from August 4 to September 19, 2025.
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) will later communicate the registration period for candidates. In the meantime, GES has directed Regional Directors to ensure that all relevant stakeholders, including school authorities, teachers, students, and parents, are well-informed to facilitate adequate preparation for the exams.
These examinations play a crucial role in determining students’ progression in the education system, with BECE serving as the gateway to senior high schools and technical institutions, while WASSCE is essential for university and tertiary education admissions.
Students are encouraged to begin their preparations early to ensure success in their respective examinations.
