Ghana Party In The Park Organisers Clarify Incident, Denies Fatality Rumours

Akwaaba UK organisers of Ghana Party in the Park ShattaFest Edition have dismissed rumours circulating on social media claiming that a stabbing incident and fatalities occurred during this year's event in London.

In a statement shared via their official Instagram page following the incident, the organisers clarified that no such incident took place.

“We can confirm there were no stabbing incidents at the festival and no fatalities occurred.”

Akwaaba UK explained that the disruption began after a fire broke out at one of the vendors stands which was quickly brought under control.

Later in the day a crowd surge at one of the entrance gates resulted in several attendees sustaining injuries creating safety concerns at the venue.

Following the situation, authorities made the decision to call off the event to ensure the safety and well-being of all patrons.

The organisers stressed that while the incident caused significant disruption, reports of stabbings and deaths were false.

They also apologised to all fans patrons and families affected by the unfortunate events.

“We sincerely apologise to everyone impacted by the incident and appreciate the patience understanding and cooperation shown during the situation,” the organisers stated.

This year's Ghana Party in the Park was themed Shattafest in honour of Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale celebrating his contribution and influence in Ghanaian music.

Following the cancellation Shatta Wale also issued an apology to fans and patrons who had gathered to celebrate with him, expressing regret over the circumstances that led to the event being called off.

Akwaaba UK has assured the public that the safety and well-being of patrons remain their top priority while thanking emergency services and attendees for their cooperation during the incident.
