Popular American YouTuber and live streamer iShowSpeed was in Ghana yesterday for a high-profile visit that blended entertainment, culture and tourism, drawing significant attention both online and on the ground.
He arrived at the Kotoka International Airport to a large crowd of fans and supporters. The tour was led by Ghanaian YouTuber Wode Maya, who accompanied the streamer throughout his engagements.

During a live stream from Akropong in the Eastern Region, iShowSpeed expressed excitement about returning to his roots, referencing his Ghanaian heritage through his mother.
As part of his cultural engagement, he visited the Akuapem King’s Palace, where traditional leaders performed a customary ceremony and officially bestowed upon him the Ghanaian name Barima Kofi Akuffo.
The streamer also visited the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park and Mausoleum, where he met Samia Nkrumah, daughter of Ghana’s first President, Dr Kwame Nkrumah, and her son, Kwame Thomas Melega.
One of the key highlights of the visit was his appearance at the Supercar Spectacle car show held at Independence Square. He was joined by Ghanaian content creator Zuu, who served as his tour guide at the venue. iShowSpeed interacted with local activists, an activity that generated strong reactions across social media platforms.
iShowSpeed also visited Bukom Square, where he experienced grassroots boxing, offering him insight into one of Ghana’s most prominent sporting communities.
The tour concluded at Hamamat African Village, where he and former Miss Malaika queen Hamamat Montia participated in the production of locally made shea butter, rounding off the visit with a traditional lifestyle experience.
The visit formed part of a broader itinerary expected to highlight Ghana’s culture, entertainment and local experiences to a global audience through the streamer’s online platforms.
