Ghanaian singer ITZ Tiffany says her lengthy absence from the music scene was a deliberate decision to reassess her career, strengthen her business ventures and prepare for a more focused return to the industry.
Speaking in the Big Conversation segment on the Culture Daily on 3Music TV and Pluzz 89.9 FM, the singer said she felt the need to step back from the spotlight after years of working in music.
“It got to a point that I felt like I needed to step back, go back to the drawing board, do my homework and see how to put my mind and everything together,” she said.
The artiste, known for hits including Azonto, said she was dealing with several competing priorities and needed time to figure out her next move.
“I felt like there was too much going on at a point. I felt like, where do I go from here?” she said.
Tiffany said she never completely abandoned music during her time away. Instead, she continued recording songs privately while focusing on other aspects of her life.
“When I’m sad, when I’m happy, I record a lot,” she said, adding that she has accumulated dozens of unreleased songs over the years.
According to her, the break allowed her to better understand herself and what she wanted from her career.
“I had to find myself. I had to find what Tiffany wanted,” she said.
The singer acknowledged that some fans felt abandoned during her absence but insisted her most loyal supporters remained connected to her journey.
“My real fans never left me,” she said.
Now back with the singles Wura and Money, Tiffany says she is ready to fully commit to music again.
“If I start something, it’s either I’m in it or I’m not. I’m not going anywhere, she said.”
The singer also revealed she is preparing an album and has enough material ready for release.
“I could drop an album tomorrow if I wanted to. That’s how ready I am,” she said.
Her return comes after years of speculation from fans who repeatedly urged her to return to the studio and release new music.
With new songs already gaining attention, Tiffany said the positive response has motivated her to work harder.
“It’s made me want to actually work harder because I see that people have been waiting,” she said.
