Kid Cudi Opens Up About Reluctant Testimony Against Diddy in Sex Trafficking Trial
Kid Cudi

Grammy-winning artiste Kid Cudi, born Scott Mescudi, revealed his deep reluctance to testify against Sean “Diddy” Combs in the music mogul’s high-profile sex trafficking and racketeering trial, as shared in an August 13, 2025, interview on the CALL HER DADDY podcast. Cudi, who testified on May 22, 2025, after being subpoenaed, admitted, “I hated every minute of it,” having declined prosecutors’ requests twice before being legally compelled. His testimony, supporting ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, detailed a 2011 home break-in and a January 2012 Molotov cocktail attack on his Porsche, which he attributed to Combs after their brief romance. “I was there to support Cassie,” Cudi said, emphasizing his loyalty to Ventura, whose allegations of abuse by Combs were central to the trial.

Cudi’s emotional recounting, also shared on CBS MORNINGS, highlighted the personal toll of facing Combs in court, where they made eye contact for the first time in years. Despite backlash from some fans and peers, including Kanye West, who criticized his testimony, Cudi stood firm, stating, “I know I did the right thing.” His testimony corroborated Ventura’s claims, including Combs’ alleged threats to bomb his car, as confirmed by Cudi’s team to the New York Times in 2023. As Cudi promotes his memoir CUDI: THE MEMOIR and prepares for his August 22, 2025, album FREE, tracks like PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS (NIGHTMARE) and DAY ‘N’ NITE continue to resonate, available on major streaming platforms. Combs, acquitted of trafficking and racketeering but convicted on prostitution charges, awaits sentencing on October 3, 2025
