Ghanaian music legend Kojo Antwi, widely known as “Mr Music Man,” has officially unveiled his long-awaited memoir, MR. MUSIC MAN: THE JOURNEY, marks a significant milestone in a career that spans more than 40 years. The book was launched on February 13, 2026, at the Labadi Beach Hotel, where a distinguished gathering of music enthusiasts, creatives and prominent public figures turned out to celebrate the occasion.
Antwi disclosed that the memoir took nearly 18 years to complete, underscoring the depth of reflection and dedication invested in the project. More than a recounting of his time on stage or in the studio, the book offers a deeply personal narrative that explores the defining experiences of his life.
The Journey
In MR. MUSIC MAN: THE JOURNEY, Antwi reflects on his upbringing in Darkuman, Accra and traces his evolution from his early days with bands such as Classique Vibes to becoming a celebrated solo artiste. His genre-blending sound fusing Highlife, Reggae, Afro-pop, and Soul helped shape his identity and cement his place in Ghana’s music history. The memoir provides candid insights into the stories behind his timeless hits, the hurdles he encountered and the values that sustained him, touching on themes of love, resilience and artistic growth.
Beyond documenting his musical accomplishments, the book also paints a vivid picture of Ghana’s socio-cultural landscape across the decades, highlighting the dynamic relationship between music, identity and personal history. Fittingly launched on the eve of Valentine’s Day, a season synonymous with love and connection the event carried added significance for fans who have long associated Antwi’s music with romance and heartfelt expression.
As industry colleagues and admirers celebrate this literary milestone, MR. MUSIC MAN: THE JOURNEY stands not only as a testament to Antwi’s enduring legacy but also as a source of motivation for the next generation of artistes.
