Ghanaian Afro-fusion duo Lali X Lola have been featured in DJ Edu’s 10 in 10 segment on the BBC World Service programme This Is Africa, with their latest single Mad Over Me selected as Ghana’s entry for the weekly playlist.

The song, which features producer Rappidd, represented Ghana in the programme’s 11 July edition. It was one of 10 tracks selected from across the continent as part of DJ Edu’s weekly roundup of emerging African music.

The 10 in 10 segment is a regular feature on This Is Africa, a BBC World Service programme presented by DJ Edu that showcases new music, artists and cultural stories from across Africa. Each week, the programme highlights songs from different countries, introducing listeners around the world to emerging and established acts.

Alongside Ghana’s entry, the 11 July playlist included songs from Cameroon, Sierra Leone, Morocco, Nigeria, Cabo Verde, Mauritius and Equatorial Guinea, reflecting the diversity of contemporary African music.

For Lali X Lola, the selection marks another milestone in their growing international profile. The duo have steadily built a following with their blend of Afro-fusion sounds and socially conscious music, attracting attention beyond Ghana.

Earlier this year, they won the Music for Good award at the 2026 Telecel Ghana Music Awards, recognising their contribution through music with a social impact.

Mad Over Me was released as a single in 2026 and is among the duo’s latest releases, following projects including Pepper Soup and other singles that have helped establish their presence on digital streaming platforms.

A feature on DJ Edu’s BBC World Service playlist places Lali X Lola before a global audience, as This Is Africa reaches listeners across Africa and international markets through the BBC World Service.

The programme has become one of the continent’s leading platforms for discovering new African music and introducing artists to audiences beyond their home countries.
