Luton Town captain Tom Lockyer is in stable condition after suffering a cardiac arrest during Saturday's match against Bournemouth. The 26-year-old collapsed in the 58th minute of the game, prompting immediate medical attention.


After being stretchered off, Lockyer was taken to the hospital, where the club confirmed that he had experienced a cardiac arrest on the pitch. However, he was responsive by the time he left the field.


In a statement, Luton Town assured supporters that Lockyer is stable and undergoing further tests, with his family at his bedside. A Bournemouth staff doctor described him as 'alert and responsive.'


The match, tied at 1-1, was later called off due to the incident. The club and the football community now await updates on Lockyer's condition as medical professionals continue to assess and monitor his recovery. The incident has brought attention to the importance of emergency medical protocols in football and the need for swift action in such critical situations
