Nigerian media mogul Mo Abudu and British actor-director Idris Elba have collaborated on a new short film titled DUST TO DREAMS, set in Lagos, Nigeria. The film delves into themes of family, identity, and the complexities of reconnection after years apart.  

The narrative centers on a dying nightclub owner who entrusts her legacy to her introverted daughter. The unexpected return of a long-lost soldier father introduces family tensions, but music ultimately serves as a healing force, uniting the family and revitalizing the legendary club.  

The ensemble cast features renowned talents such as Nse Ikpe-Etim, Eku Edewor, Seal, Constance Olatunde, and Atlanta Bridget Johnson, blending established actors with rising stars.  

DUST TO DREAMS is a product of the partnership between EbonyLife Films and the African Export-Import Bank’s Creative Africa Nexus (CANEX) initiative, which aims to spotlight African stories and talent.  

The film is currently in post-production, with its release date yet to be announced. Anticipation is building for this poignant exploration of family dynamics and cultural identity, set against the vibrant backdrop of Lagos.
