The Ghana Police Service has sent a stern warning to final-year Senior High School students all over the country ahead of their final papers of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) to be taken on Friday, June 19, 2026.
The Service cautioned the students against any act of violence or misconduct during and after the examinations.
Recent student unrest in some parts of the Upper East Region prompted the caution from the Ghana Police Service, leading to the arrest of six students.
Four students of Bawku Senior High School were picked up for rioting, attacking school authorities alongside destroying both school and private properties.
Another two students from Zebilla Senior High Technical School were arrested following an alleged arson of a teacher's apartment.
In a Thursday, June 18 statement, the Ghana Police Service urged discipline among candidates, obey the law and to celebrate their completion responsibly
The Service said that acts such as violence, vandalism, arson, assault, and other unlawful behaviours will not be tolerated and to be regarded as criminal offenses that can could jeopardise their bright futures and erase years of academic hard work.
