Shalimar Abbiusi, spokesperson for the political group The New Force, has been granted bail in the amount of GH¢20,000 by the Kaneshie District Court after pleading not guilty to charges of obtaining a student permit through false declaration. This declaration is said to have occurred on or before September 23, 2023.
The GIS contended that Abbiusi knowingly made a false declaration, leading to the acquisition of a student permit with the number 0088754. The case which gained public attention due to Abbiusi's prominent role as the spokesperson for The New Force political group. A video circulated on social media featured Abbiusi actively canvassing for support for the group.
