Ghanaian reggae-dancehall musician Stonebwoy brought excitement to both fans and the general Ghanaian population following a post he made on X, which has since been circulating. The news came in the form of the announcement of his album 5TH DIMENSION for Grammy Awards consideration.
This news comes off the back of an announcement which was made earlier in the year by the Grammy Recording Academy about the addition of newer categories, in the Recording Academy's effort to broaden and widen their reach in the name of inclusion and recognition of a wider range of music genres and talent from different parts of the world as opposed to the usually recognized regions and artistes.
Taking to his socials to share the news, Stonebwoy stated that he was grateful and thankful to tell his story through the album, he posted "The 5th Dimension is here, I have been blessed and remain thankful to be able to tell my story and that of many around me through my art & my sound - the journey continues and is being considered for this years @recordingacademy #GRAMMY awards! #5thdimension #ghana #foryourgrammyconsideration."
The album since its release has gained massive attention around the world recording millions of streams on various streaming platforms. The 17-track long project captured a wide range of sounds and genres especially on account of the features that appeared on it. There were a host of both local and international artistes who graced the album and brought their own feel of originality and diversity including British rapper Stormzy, Grammy award-winner and African singer Angelique Kidjo, Iconic Nigerian Afrobeats singer Davido, South African DJ Maphorisa, and Jamaican reggae rapper Shaggy, Dexta Daps (Jamaica) and Mereba (US), and Jaz Karis (UK).
