Tiwa Savage Announces New Studio Album, This One Is Personal
Tiwa Savage has officially announced her forthcoming fourth studio album, titled This One Is Personal, set for release later this year. This project marks a significant shift in her musical journey, as she delves deeper into R&B, blending her Afrobeats roots with soulful melodies.
The album’s lead single, You4Me, produced by Mystro, reimagines Tamia’s 1998 classic So Into You with a modern twist. Savage’s rendition showcases her velvety vocals and pays homage to ’90s R&B influences, drawing comparisons to artists like Brandy and Mary J. Blige. The track has been described as a love letter to the genre, signaling a reinvention rather than a mere throwback.
In her announcement, Savage expressed that This One Is Personal is a reflection of her personal experiences, stating it’s for “every time she fell and still found a way to shine, every lesson dressed in pain, and every smile she wore during the rain.”
The album is anticipated to release this summer, marking her first full-length project since 2020’s Celia. Fans can expect a blend of introspective lyrics and a fusion of Afrobeats and R&B sounds.
