Arsenal have officially signed England international Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace in a high-profile transfer reported to be worth £67.5 million £60 million in guaranteed fees plus £7.5 million in potential add-ons. Eze has also been handed the iconic No. 10 shirt for the Gunners.

A childhood Arsenal fan who was released from their academy at age 13, Eze marks a poignant return to the club where his dreams began. The transfer comes soon after a knee injury to Kai Havertz, prompting Arsenal to swoop in just as Tottenham appeared to be closing in on the player.

Rather than a traditional announcement, Arsenal released a video unveiling Eze that opened with a warm welcome from club legend Ian Wright—who himself once joined Arsenal from Crystal Palace at the same age Eze was released—and included a surprise video message from Thierry Henry encouraging him to “make it count.” 

Fans online also noted a compelling audio backdrop to the video—produced by Sampha—lending emotional depth and modern artistry to Eze’s return.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta praised Eze’s talent, versatility, and character, calling him “a powerful and exciting player” who brings new dimension to their attack. At Palace, Eze scored 14 goals and contributed 11 assists in the 2024–25 season, including the winner in the FA Cup final.

He represents the Gunners’ seventh signing this summer and part of a record-breaking transfer spree exceeding £260 million.
