Afro-Jamaican artiste Faith Barbee Eselebor, popularly known as Barbee, used her appearance at the 2026 edition of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards to officially unveil her African-inspired fashion brand, African Barbee.

The singer, who drew attention last year with her single Start Over, appeared on the red carpet in a custom-made outfit from the new collection. The two-piece ensemble featured a structured corset and matching skirt designed with African prints and crystal embellishments.

Barbee said the inspiration behind the collection is deeply connected to her childhood and cultural roots.

“Growing up, I always loved African prints and looked forward to the beautiful outfits my father would bring back to the States for me,” she said.

According to her, launching a fashion line influenced by her heritage is a personal milestone.

“Being able to create my own designs influenced by my African heritage and childhood memories is incredibly meaningful to me,” she added.

Barbee explained that African Barbee is an extension of the BRATTIES lifestyle brand and represents a blend of African culture, fashion and artistic expression.

Currently in Ghana, the singer is also working on the music video for her latest single, Start Over. She said the project aims to showcase the country’s vibrant creative scene and cultural energy.

“I’m grateful to be reconnecting with my roots and building something meaningful through music, fashion and culture,” she said.

Born Faith Barbee Eselebor, Barbee is known for fusing Reggae, Pop, Dancehall and R&B in her music.
