Legon PRESEC’s anniversary celebration turned into a full-blown music festival this weekend as thousands of students and alumni partied under the Accra skies to some of Ghana’s biggest sounds. The night delivered nothing short of magic, featuring explosive performances from AraTheJay, Gonaboy and the man of the moment, Black Sherif, who closed the show with his signature storm of passion and raw energy.
AraTheJay set the tone beautifully, opening with his smooth, Afro-fusion style that instantly pulled the crowd in. His vocals carried emotion and charisma, and his connection with the audience proved why he’s one of the most exciting new voices emerging from Ghana’s music scene.
Then came Gonaboy, who turned the energy up several notches. His set was pure fire back-to-back bangers, dance breaks, and nonstop interaction that had the entire school on their feet. From the chants to the coordinated phone lights, Gonaboy showed he’s fast becoming a fan favourite among Gen Z music lovers.
But when Black Sherif hit the stage, it was game over. The cheers were deafening. The KWAKU THE TRAVELLER star owned every second, performing hit after hit with that unmatched intensity that makes him one of the most authentic performers of his generation. His energy, pain and joy all spilt out through his voice, transforming the concert into a shared emotional experience.
By the end of the night, it wasn’t just an anniversary celebration it was a statement. PRESEC reminded everyone why it remains a hub for youthful creativity and excellence, and Ghana’s new wave of artistes proved they’re carrying the torch with pride, sound and soul.
