Charlie Woods Claims First AJGA Title at Team TaylorMade Invitational
Charlie Woods & Tiger Woods

Charlie Woods, the 16-year-old son of golf legend Tiger Woods, etched his name in the record books by winning his first American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) event at the Team TaylorMade Invitational on Wednesday. The tournament, held at the prestigious Streamsong Resort Black Course, saw Woods deliver a stellar performance, finishing with a three-round total of 15-under-par 201 to claim a three-shot victory over a highly competitive 71-player field.

Woods entered the final round tied at 9-under 135 after opening with a 70 and a scorching 65 on Tuesday. His final-round 6-under 66, highlighted by eight birdies, showcased his composure and skill under pressure, outpacing a stacked leaderboard that included four of the top-five ranked AJGA players. “Being able to say to myself that I won an absolutely amazing event and performed under some high-pressure situations is just huge going forward,” Woods said after his victory.
The Team TaylorMade Invitational marked only Woods’ fifth AJGA appearance, with his previous best finish being a tie for 25th at the Junior Invitational at Sage Valley in March. His remarkable performance included 25 birdies and an eagle across 54 holes, demonstrating his growing prowess on the junior golf stage.

The victory is a significant step in Woods’ young career, as he continues to carve his own path in the sport under the shadow of his father’s legendary legacy. Beating top-ranked amateurs like Miles Russell, Tyler Watts, and Luke Colton, Woods proved he can compete with the best in his age group.
As Charlie Woods basks in his breakthrough moment, the golf world is abuzz with anticipation for what lies ahead for the young star. For now, he’s earned a well-deserved spot on the trophy shelf—right alongside his father’s.
