Ghanaian actress, filmmaker and entrepreneur Juliet Ibrahim has opened up about one of the biggest regrets in her over two-decade career in the entertainment industry.
In a recent interview, the award-winning actress reflected on her journey and admitted that if she could go back in time, she would pay closer attention to the business side of the industry and surround herself with the right people earlier in her career.
“Looking back after 20 years, my biggest regret is not having the right people around me to help me understand the business side of the industry and build my brand sooner,” she said.
According to Juliet Ibrahim, many creatives often focus heavily on their craft but overlook the strategic and business elements that are essential for long-term success. She explained that having a strong team, mentorship, and proper guidance could have helped her structure her brand and make more informed career decisions earlier.
Over the years, the actress has built a name for herself across both the Ghanaian and Nigerian film industries, earning recognition for her performances, entrepreneurship, and advocacy work. However, she noted that navigating the entertainment industry without the right support system can make it difficult for creatives to fully maximize their potential.
Her comments highlight a common challenge faced by many artistes and entertainers in creative industries where formal structures and professional management systems are still developing.
Juliet Ibrahim emphasized that young creatives should intentionally seek mentorship, build strong professional networks and learn the business aspects of entertainment.
Despite the regret, the actress remains proud of how far she has come and continues to evolve, using her experience to guide younger creatives entering the industry.
