Ghanaian-American singer, Moliy, has landed the cover of Billboard Africa for its March/April 2026 issue, where she reflects on her rapid rise in the global music scene and the online community that helped fuel her breakthrough. In the feature, the artiste shares how digital platforms and strong fan engagement played a key role in amplifying her music worldwide, turning viral moments into long-term success.
During the interview, Moliy also spoke about defining her sound as Afro-Dancehall, a fusion of Afrobeats rhythms and Caribbean dancehall influences that has become central to her artistic identity.
The genre-blending style gained global attention with her hit single Shake It To The Max (Fly), which went viral on TikTok through a popular dance challenge before climbing charts worldwide and reaching the top of the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs Chart. The track’s remix featuring Shenseea and Skillibeng further boosted its international success.
