The boom in the world of artificial intelligence has been peaking for a few years now, especially during and after the period of the pandemic. Artificial intelligence has become very popular in several sectors of industry - from tech, to hospitality, education and even in the world of entertainment. Months ago, it was revealed that artificial intelligence was capable of mimicking artistes just from gathering samples and creating a database of their vocals from different songs to create music, and with the help of machine learning, sound exactly like them.
In 2022, the first AI rapper FN MEKA, was signed to Capitol records, sending the rest of the world into a frenzy. Since then, several industry players and AI fanatics have experimented with the tools in exploration of what else it is capable of doing.
Ghana has not been left out of the conversation with the introduction of AI generated artiste, CJB which is the digital version of Ghanaian rap artiste, C.J Biggerman. Speaking on the inspiration behind the creation of his AI generated artiste, Ghanaian rap artiste C.J Biggerman cited the need for artistes to explore new ways of doing things.
This he said, has led him toward understanding artificial intelligence and its introduction into the creative space. According to him, his desire to be different and to be in tune with the times drove him to learn more about the use of AI tools in the promotion of his music career. Still speaking on the subject, he touched on the various ways in which artificial intelligence is being integrated, getting signed to labels and its use in generating music amongst other things. CJB according to him, serves as his digital footprint and a digital version of himself which he looks forward to working hand-in-hand with.
He made mention of plans to utilize social media platforms and other promotional tools in promoting his AI avatar, whom he plans to release a song with in the near future.
