Court Restores Abronye DC's Bail After Submitting Passport

A Circuit Court in Accra has restored bail terms of the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe, also known as Abronye DC, after it was determined that he had fully satisfied with the court's earlier stipulations.

Abronye DC was placed under police arrest on June 4, 2026, when he disregarded a court order that required him to give up his passport as part of his bail requirements in a criminal case that was still pending.

However, Daniel Martey Addo, the applicant's attorney, told the court during the Monday, June 8, 2026, sessions that his client's passports had been turned in and that all bail requirements had been fulfilled.

The registrar confirmed that the passports had been lodged early on Friday, June 5, 2026, when the court asked for confirmation.

The court reinstated Abronye DC's previous bail conditions after the confirmation.

But the judge warned the NPP communicator that his bail would be revoked if he violated its restrictions.

The court expressed pleasure that the requirements had been met after reviewing the applicant's adherence to the terms of his bail.

Abronye DC is facing a false publication charge in the case filed by the State against him.
