Juliet Ibrahim Wins Best Short Film Award At GMA
Ghanaian actress, filmmaker and producer Juliet Ibrahim has added another major achievement to her growing list of accomplishments in the film industry by winning the Best Short Film award at the 2026 Ghana Movie Awards with her movie Behind A Lie.
It was at the glamorous ceremony held at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City in Accra on Sunday night that the award was presented.
Behind A Lie was nominated in the Best Short Film category before its ultimate win with Ibrahim sharing her excitement about the recognition.
The project features Nigerian star Etime Effiong, Doris Okorie and Juliet Ibrahim herself.
It is a great time for the actress as her film has been selected for a special screening at Cannes, pushing Ghanaian filmmaking on the international map.
According to Ibrahim, the film also won the Best Short Film at the People's Film Festival, just days before this milestone.
Juliet Ibrahim Studios’ production and direction of Behind A Lie by Juliet Ibrahim is being hailed as part of the rise of African stories getting global attention.
