Renowned Ghanaian rapper and producer E.L has just unveiled his latest single, ALABA, timed to coincide with this year’s vibrant Homowo festival.

The track was released exclusively on Audiomack, offering a festive anthem that resonates deeply with the Ga community as they honor their annual cultural traditions.

Homowo, meaning “hooting at hunger,” is an annual harvest festival celebrated by the Ga people of Ghana’s Greater Accra Region. It commemorates a historic period of famine overcome through perseverance, fertility rituals, and communal unity.

With ALABA, E.L joins the vibrant roster of artistes who use music to preserve and amplify Ghana’s cultural heritage. The song is both a celebratory tribute to his Ga roots and a modern soundtrack to Homowo’s traditional rites, reconnecting younger generations with ancestral customs.
By honoring the Homowo season through music, E.L reinforces the significance of heritage, storytelling, and community in Ghanaian artistic expression.
